Whimsical Sage Hill Wedding

Amy + Sarah’s whimsical Austin, Texas wedding was pure magic.

Amy and Sarah tied the knot at the beautiful Sage Hill Inn and Spa, a sprawling estate tucked away in the Texas Hill Country.

First, the couple chose to exchange handwritten vows beneath a canopy of oak trees, donned in impeccable vintage outfits. Amy wore her grandmother’s wedding dress which had been lovingly restored.

Next, we headed over to a tea time with their guests. Amy and Sarah had put together a display of all their loved ones who are no longer with us so they could be honored and remembered during their special day. They chose the Day of the Dead, November 1st, as their wedding date so they could feel that much closer to their passed loved ones.

They had intended for the ceremony to be at the outlook site but a thunderstorm blew through right as they began the procession so, after some finagling, the ceremony took place under the reception canopy instead. Sarah and Amy’s friends and family quickly gathered together to make the new ceremony space so special and heartfelt you would’ve thought it must have been the original plans.

After the rain stopped out we got a peak of a rainbow, and then one of the most beautiful sunsets we’ve ever seen. The light during couples photos turned the whole sky the most jaw dropping shade of bright blue that was somehow both soft and luminous. The perfect moody backdrop for a Halloween weekend wedding.

The rain did return for the reception, but at that point everyone was too overjoyed to mind. We danced the night away and sent them off to start their lives together in a cloud of bubbles.

Congratulations Amy and Sarah!
